This one-pan cheesy ranch potatoes and smoked sausage recipe delivers restaurant-quality comfort food in just 45 minutes. Crispy potatoes, savory sausage, melted cheese, and zesty ranch create the perfect family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds baby potatoes or 4 large russets, diced
  • 14 ounces smoked sausage sliced into rounds
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix 1 oz packet
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives for garnish

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. Cut potatoes into 1-inch pieces. Pat completely dry with paper towels.
  3. Toss potatoes with 2 tablespoons olive oil and half the ranch seasoning. Spread in single layer on pan.
  4. Roast potatoes alone for 15 minutes until starting to golden.
  5. Add sliced sausage to pan. Drizzle with remaining oil and ranch seasoning. Toss to combine.
  6. Return to oven for 15-20 minutes until potatoes are crispy and sausage is browned.
  7. Reduce heat to 350°F. Drizzle heavy cream over everything, then sprinkle cheese evenly on top.
  8. Bake 5-7 minutes until cheese melts. Optional: broil 2 minutes for golden top.
  9. Rest 5 minutes, then garnish with fresh chives and black pepper. Serve hot.

Notes

For lighter version, use turkey sausage and reduced-fat cheese. Can prep ahead and refrigerate up to 24 hours before final baking. Doubles easily for crowds. Leftovers keep 4-5 days refrigerated.
